Abstract

Children aged six months to three years have been documented as vulnerable to persisting emotional sequelae to hospitalization. However, this age group is inconsistently provided age-appropriate emotional and developmental support in hospitals. This article addresses considerations for optimizing the hospital environment for infants, toddlers and their families.
