Using Anthropometric Data in the Design of Children's Health Care Environments
Abstract
This article presents the use of anthropometric data in designing health care environments for children. Anthropometric data, a collection of body measurements, can assist a designer in determining the scale and placement of features appropriate for different age groups. Creating an environment that utilizes this data can increase a child's independence, competence, and sense of control. A complete listing of anthropometric data for infants, children, and youths has been included.
